German Film Students Showcase Creativity

Students from Dr. Lynn M. Kutch's ENGL GERM 260, German Cinema in English, class recently displayed their creativity at their showcase mini-conference event. Original projects ranged from artwork adaptations to original short films, to alternative scenes and abbreviated screenplays.

Call for Proposals: Leadership Summit

Kutztown University will host a leadership conference titled "Navigate Your Leadership" for local high school students Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026. Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to submit an engaging workshop; each session should last 45 minutes and fit into one of the five conference tracks:
- Finding Your North: Discovering your leadership direction (passions, strengths, purpose).
- Setting Your Course: Design the journey you want (Goals, vision, planning).
- Building Your Crew: Understanding the importance of teamwork in leadership (teamwork, communication, empathy).
- Navigating the Unexpected: Not all paths are straightforward (resilience, problem solving, stress management).
- Expanding Your Horizons: See the impact that you can make (leadership in action, community influence).
This is a great opportunity to mentor student leaders who may benefit from presentation experience as well. Submit your proposal online by Monday, Jan. 26, 2026. Presenters will be notified by the week of Feb. 9.

Athletics

Field Hockey Places Five on 2025 All-America Team

Following a historic season for the Golden Bears, Erin Gonzalez, Olivia Kirkpatrick, Marissa Rice, Jessica Traynor and Grace Harrold were named National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Americans. Kutztown is coming off a record-breaking 20-2 campaign that featured the most wins in a single season in program history, the longest winning streak (19 games) and new single-season program records for goals (101) and assists (67). The Golden Bears also led the nation in penalty corners with 304 (more than 13 per game) and allowed a Division II-low 15 goals all season. KU's five All-America selections are its most since 2005.
