Honor Society Inducts New Members

The annual Phi Kappa Phi Induction Ceremony was held Wednesday, Feb. 26. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest and most selective collegiate honor society that inducts persons from every academic discipline. Distinguished junior and senior level students join a century-old community of scholars and professionals that includes individuals who have distinguished themselves in positions of leadership and whose careers have been characterized by achievement.

The Kenny Rogers Band Performs at Schaeffer Auditorium March 12

This is not a tribute band, but the band that supported Kenny Rogers for more than 40 years. They will play the songs and tell the tales they shared first-hand Through the Years. Don Gatlin, dynamic country singer, songwriter, collaborator and friend of Kenny Rogers, fronts the band singing all the mega-hits and fan favorites. Join them at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, Schaeffer Auditorium. KU faculty and staff can access discounted tickets by logging in for tickets with their MyKU login.

Faculty and Staff Pride Alliance - LGBTQIA+ Resource Group Mixer

Attention faculty and staff who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community: a few of us have come together to create a resource group to bring our collective KU voice together. Our first event will be an after-work mixer at 5 p.m. Friday, March 14, Kutztown Pub, which is noted as one of KU's "All-Inclusive Establishments." To ensure that we have enough space, please RSVP to this event using the link below; names and attendance at this event will not be shared. We hope you will come join us for some much-needed community and support before the start of spring break.

Ash Wednesday at the Newman Center

Ash Wednesday Masses will be offered at 12:10 p.m. and 5 p.m. this coming Wednesday, March 5, at the Saint Christopher Catholic Newman Center, located at 15207 Kutztown Road, across from Old Main. UGRC Conference Deadlines

Please remind your student researchers to submit proposals for our upcoming local conferences.
KU Composition Conference: “Writing Your Way Home.” The proposal deadline is Friday, March 14, and the conference will be held Monday, April 14. You can access the proposal form here.
- KU Inspires: “A Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creativity.” The proposal deadline is Saturday, March 15, and the conference will held Thursday, April 17. You can access proposal form here.
- HECBC (Berks County Regional): The annual Berks County Undergraduate Research and Creativity Conference allows students to share their research and creativity with each other and the community. The conference is open to any undergraduate student seeking an opportunity to share their expertise with other scholars. The proposal deadline is 4 p.m. Friday, April 4, and the conference date is Saturday, April 26. You can access proposal form here.

Social Equity Policies Training

Pursuant to the university's Anti-Harassment, Anti-Discrimination, Sexual Misconduct and Amorous Relationships policies, the Office of Social Equity will offer Social Equity Policies training sessions via Zoom. Zoom links will be emailed to participants a day or two prior to the training.

Fisher Recognized as Super Region 1 Coach of the Year

Kutztown University wrestling head coach Robert Fisher has had a season to remember at the helm of the 20th-ranked KU wrestling team, as he was named the NCAA Super Region I Coach of the Year for the first time in his career Friday, Feb. 28. Fisher is nearing the end of his 24th season in charge of Kutztown wrestling.
