Moments Create Movements: DJ Workshop

Join us for a special DJ Workshop as part of the Moments Create Movements Series: The Remix, featuring Dr. Sirrakos, also known as DJ Trix, 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, MSU Bears Den. This event is free and open to all Kutztown University students, staff and faculty. No prior experience is required. This interactive experience will introduce students to the art, history and cultural significance of DJing, a foundational element of Hip-Hop culture. Participants will have the opportunity to learn directly from DJ Trex, an experienced educator and DJ, about how DJs use turntables to blend music, create live remixes and move crowds. The workshop will explore essential skills such as beat matching, scratching and understanding how DJs shape musical experiences and cultural moments. Whether you are an aspiring DJ, a music enthusiast or simply curious about how turntables work, this workshop offers a welcoming space to learn, explore and engage. This event is part of the Moments Create Movements initiative, which provides hands-on learning opportunities that connect creativity, culture and community while highlighting the educational power of Hip-Hop culture. Come be part of the movement and experience how moments of creativity can inspire lasting impact.

Planetarium Show Tonight - Spark: The Universe in Us

Join us for "Spark: The Universe in Us" 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, Planetarium. Where did the building blocks of life come from? The answer lies far from home. Travel inside a giant star nearing the end of its life, witness stellar corpses colliding and experience the quiet demise of a sun-like star. From the oxygen we breathe to the iron in our blood, the silicon in Earth’s mantle to the uranium that warms our planet, we owe it all to the stars. Narrated by Diego Luna, "Spark: The Universe in Us" explores how hundreds of millions of celestial events have forged the elements that make up the solar system, Earth and us. This show is free and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served and the doors will open at 6 p.m. This event includes an optional tour of the astronomical research observatory and, if the weather is good, telescope views of Jupiter and the moon.
