History Display in Old Main Concourse
We are excited to share that the history display located in Old Main's Concourse has had a full update for the upcoming academic year, courtesy of Jason Graver '92, M'18. Graver was awarded the Kutztown University President's Medal in December 2024 for his volunteerism, commitment and dedication to preserving and celebrating the university's rich history. Please stop by the history display to learn about our university's history. Among other things, this year's history display includes:
- Frances Eichler's 1927 Keystone State Normal School (KSNS) Philomathean Certificate and 1939 Kutztown State Teachers College (KSTC) diploma. Today’s Eichler-Frankenfield home is named in honor of Frances and her husband, Henry Frankenfield (KSNS Class of 1923).
- An original 1906 KSNS class photograph donated by Mr. Ray Oswald, Class of 1979 and 1989.
- A handwritten letter of recommendation from Dr. Amos Rothermel for his student, Mary Fabian (KSNS Class of 1893).
- An original 1936 aerial photograph of the Kutztown State Teachers College campus.
- Kutztown State College (KSC) football jerseys and a helmet worn by players during the 1970s.
- Original paintings by graduates representing each of KU’s former art schools, including works by Henry Sharadin (KSNS Class of 1891), Carlton Boyer (KSTC Class of 1949) and Robert Beitler (KSC Class of 1965).
