International Student Arrivals and Orientation Week

The Office of International Education and Global Engagement is excited to welcome our newest international Golden Bears during International Student Arrivals and Orientation Week, Aug. 17-21. International Student Orientation is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, Multicultural Center. Throughout the week, the International Office will assist students with their transition to campus by offering airport pickup, shopping trips, campus tours and other activities designed to help them become familiar with KU and the surrounding community before classes begin. We encourage faculty and staff to help us welcome our new international students and make them feel at home as they begin their academic journey.

Return to Standard Administrative Office Hours and Work Schedules

Offices will return to standard administrative business hours and summer flexible work schedules will end Monday, Aug. 17. Standard business hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch. Hybrid Work Arrangements remain available pursuant to the university's Hybrid/Remote Work for Non-Faculty Employees Policy.

New Inclusive Education Minor Launching Fall 2026 – Relevant Across Majors

The College of Education is launching a new 18-credit Inclusive Education minor beginning fall 2026, designed to help students develop the skills to work effectively with diverse learners in today's classrooms and communities. While particularly valuable for teacher preparation, this minor is highly relevant for students across the university who are interested in careers that involve working with people including health professions, psychology, social services, business and community-based fields. These are careers where understanding diverse needs, communication and support strategies are increasingly important. The program emphasizes practical, real-world skills, flexibility and pathways into additional certifications or graduate study, helping students strengthen their preparation and employability in a wide range of professions. Please share with advisees who may benefit from developing skills in inclusion, accessibility and working with diverse populations. Students are encouraged to speak with their advisor to explore fit within their program of study or stop by the Department of Special Education in 111 Beekey for assistance. Please note Special Education majors are not eligible for this minor.

Football Favored in PSAC East Preseason Football Poll

The three-time defending Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference champion Kutztown University football team was selected as the unanimous favorite to claim another Eastern Division crown when the league office announced its 2026 Preseason Polls. Kutztown received a maximum six first-place votes and tops the PSAC East Preseason Poll, voted upon by the league's coaches, for a third consecutive season. The Golden Bears are coming off the best season in program history in 2025 with a 14-1 record, 14 consecutive victories, third straight PSAC East crown, third straight PSAC Championship game victory, second Super Region One title and a third-place final ranking in the AFCA Division II Coaches Poll.
