Geology Students Rock Professional Geologist Conference

Nine Kutztown University Geology students attended the annual Pennsylvania Council of Professional Geologists (PCPG) meeting in Harrisburg Thursday, Feb. 27, where they took a full-day workshop in environmental sampling techniques (including use of a large truck-mounted well drill parked out in the parking lot). They also networked with the 200 industry professionals attending the meeting, who can provide summer internship opportunities. Geology professors Dr. Laura Sherrod and Dr. Kurt Friehauf drove vans that got the students to the meeting in an efficient, safe and relatively low-carbon manner, but it was the students who drove this initiative in the first place.
