Germany and the Alps Study Abroad
Eight students participated this year in the KU Germany and the Alps summer study abroad program. In their Travel Writing course, led by professor Melissa Nurczynski, students documented their adventures in Germany, which included day trips to the Nymphenburg Palace in Munich, the Neuschwanstein Castle, Salzburg and the Dachau Memorial site. In Austria, students went horseback riding, paragliding and hiked in the scenic Stubai valley. Integral to this program is small-group independent travel, which led this year’s students to Vienna, Trento, Verona and Venice.

New Student Orientation July 9-12
Beginning July 9 we will be hosting New Student Orientation days to welcome our new class of students. Our student staff and campus partners have been working hard preparing for the upcoming freshman sessions, and we are excited to see all the new students and families. Freshman orientation will take place July 9-12 and 23-26, with check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the MSU. If you see any new students and/or families on campus, be sure to welcome them to KU. We look forward to seeing all the new faces on campus this week.

Help Requested: UGRC Faculty-Student Collaboration Opportunity Resource
Undergraduate Research and Creativity (UGRC) is working on developing an electronic one-stop-shop for faculty to advertise and publicize collaborative research opportunities to students and for students to easily find those opportunities.
How you can help: let UGRC know what categories of potential research opportunities would be helpful for students to search and by which the resource can be organized. For example, KU BEARS, research assistants, lab assistants, co-authors, paid opportunities, unpaid opportunities, scholarships, fellowships, etc.
Please assist by completing the quick three-question form.
