Students Present German Horror Stories
Students in Dr. Lynn Kutch's German Horror Stories literature class recently showcased their adaptation projects. Darius Holman, secondary education, imagined Jordan Peele making Kafka's "Metamorphosis." Jackson Richmond, biology, adapted Kafka's text from an etymological perspective.

Criminal Justice Academic Excellence and Community Service Award
The Department of Criminal Justice is pleased to announce that the recipients of the Criminal Justice Academic Excellence and Community Service award are Michael Fellin and Natalie Ryan. In addition to their outstanding work in the classroom, both have also excelled in their respective athletic teams and demonstrated a commitment to the university and community service. Congratulations to Natalie, Michael and all of our 2026 graduates.

Stop in the KU Campus Store before the end of the month to shop "game worn" athletic jerseys from past years' sports. Available sports include baseball, basketball, field hockey, football, lacrosse, soccer and softball. Each jersey is $25 and all proceeds go to KU Athletics.

Faculty and Staff Recognition Picnic: May 21
The annual Faculty and Staff Recognition Picnic is 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21, O'Pake Fieldhouse. We will recognize our faculty, managers, professional staff and support personnel who have reached significant service milestones in their careers and those who have retired or will be retiring from Kutztown University. The picnic will start at 12:30 p.m., followed by the awards presentation at approximately 2 p.m. Kindly respond through the online form by Monday, May 18. Offices will close at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21, to allow the campus community to attend the picnic. We look forward to the opportunity to thank you for all that you do for the university. Campuswide Grass Fertilizer and Weed Control Application
TruGreen will be on campus Tuesday, May 19, to perform our annual spring fertilizer and weed control applications. The work should be completed by early afternoon. Please stay off treated areas until the grass is dry, which typically takes about 30 minutes, but can vary depending on weather conditions.

Join the KU Foundation for a Sweet End-of-Semester Treat
The KU Foundation invites faculty and staff to celebrate the end of the academic year with a complimentary sweet treat from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, outside the Wells-Rapp Center for Mallet Percussion Research. Batch Microcreamery, owned by alumni Manny ’11 and Kylie ’16 Rodriguez, will serve ice cream. As we wrap up another successful semester and welcome summer, we want to thank the KU community for all you do to support our students and campus. This event is rain or shine, so stop by and enjoy a dish of ice cream on us.

Davis Receives USA Lacrosse Third Team All-America status, Bragg Honorable Mention
No. 13 Kutztown University women's lacrosse is still pursuing a national championship, but off the field, the program continues to garner awards as two members were named USA Lacrosse All-Americans. Senior defender Summer Davis was voted to the Third Team, while senior goalie Marisa Bragg was an honorable mention. It is the first All-America recognition for both Davis and Bragg.

Quintet of Golden Bears earn All-Atlantic Region Recognition
Five from No. 13 Kutztown University women's lacrosse were voted to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Atlantic Region teams. Senior defender Summer Davis earned First Team honors and senior goalie Marisa Bragg, senior defender Rowan Hall, senior attack Katie Yocum and junior midfielder Alexis Plesic were tabbed to the Second Team. It's the second All-Region recognition for Davis, who was also First Team in 2024, and the first honor for Bragg, Hall, Yocum and Plesic.
