Berks Internship Summit hosted at KU

The Kutztown University Career Development Center, in collaboration with four other Berks County colleges and universities, recently hosted the Berks Internship Summit. The event brought together businesses of all sizes from across Berks County to explore strategies for developing meaningful, high-impact internship opportunities that benefit both employers and students. The summit welcomed approximately 100 business professionals from throughout Berks County. University President Dr. Cavalier provided the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of partnerships between higher education and local industry. The keynote presentation, delivered by Dr. Carl Sheperis, explored the growing role of artificial intelligence and its impact on the future of internships.

Learn about move-in, convocation and Welcome Week, including volunteer needs and roles, intended outcomes/objectives and ways you can best support these initiatives. First impressions count. If your office has any student employment openings for the upcoming semester, please post the position(s) on Handshake at your earliest convenience. To edit the application and start/end dates for a previously posted position: Go to Jobs; Owner; Status; then click Closed and Apply. We plan to email students about the available positions before the semester begins so they can apply. We ask that departments post all on-campus jobs, so it is equitable for all students to see and apply to all positions. If you haven’t created a Kutztown University department account to post your positions, please go to Join Handshake and create an employer account (i.e., Kutztown University: Career Development Center). PASSHE Summit Proposals Now Being Accepted

Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) is pleased to announce that the 2026 PASSHE Summit will take place on Wednesday, October 28, and Thursday, October 29, at Kutztown University. This year’s theme for the PASSHE Summit is "Meeting the Moment Together: Transformation through Resilience, Access and Innovation," which recognizes the many shifts and challenges occurring in higher education and society, and encourages us to reflect on and see the opportunities for transformation and collective action that the changing landscape creates.
Registration will open soon, but the Call for Proposals is open now. Please consider submitting a proposal by Thursday, September 10.
